BEL expects over Rs 1,700 cr turnover in FY09
Ruling out any adverse impact of the global downturn on its business, leading electrical appliance maker Bajaj Electricals (BEL) today said it hoped to attain a turnover of over Rs 1,700 crore in 2008-09, compared to Rs 1,404 crore achieved in the last fiscal.
Besides, the company will also foray into new high potential sectors including Building Management Systems (BMS) and security systems.
"There has not been any impact of the global meltdown on our business as we achieved 25 per cent growth till October this year and we are hopeful of maintaining the same growth level in the rest of the fiscal," BEL Chairman and Managing Director Shekhar Bajaj told reporters here today.
The company, which clocked total sales of Rs 1,404 crore in 2007-08, is anticipating a turnover of over Rs 1,700 crore by the end of the current fiscal. "We are targeting sales of over Rs 1,700 crore by 2008-09," said BEL Executive Director Anant Bajaj said.
