"While such contests provide management students a chance to challenge themselves with a real-time situation, it also provides an opportunity to engage with some of the finest brains to arrive at innovative solutions," says Pavan Bhatia, Executive Director-HR, Pepsi India.
Firms like Pepsi, Spencer`s Retail and Dabur, are some who are posing challenge to the B-school budding managers to ideate and devise fresh strategies in return of cash rewards and pre-placement offers. As a part of this strategic mov
e to dig up unique ideas, Pepsi is organizing the contest called "Taste the Success : Become Indra`s Advisors`, which will provide the winners a gateway to present their ideas to Indra Nooyi, Chairperson and CEO of Pepsi, along with a pre-placement offer in the company. Even the runners up shall be awarded with a pre-placement interview along with a cash prize of one lakh rupees. The contest saw a good response with around 582 entries from various top league managers.
As reported by Business Line, the case-study initiative also helps the firm to find recognition among students. "Apart from the benefit of generating business ideas for the organization`s growth, this initiative is also a way of building the brand among students," says A Sudhakar, Executive Director - HR of Dabur India. The company has launched its Navigator programme, for suggestions in terms of growing our business, both organic and inorganic. Under the program B-school students were asked to formulate business strategies for the FMCG major, which witnessed entries from over 120 teams.
