IIT-B to start retail course in Delhi
27 Dec 2008 Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai, is all set to offer certificate programme in supply chain management in New Delhi
and NCR among others. The course is scheduled to start from February one, 2009 and overall 125 students will be selected for the programme.
Said Aastha Jindal, admission coordinator, IIT, Mumbai: "For the first time an IIT is conducting an off campus programme in India. Apart from Delhi and NCR, the course would simultaneously start from Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.``
Offered on first come first basis, the eligibility for the programme is minimum 50 per cent marks in graduation or diploma in any discipline with the minimum 50 per cent of marks. "The duration of the programme will be of six months and classes will be held once a week through video conferencing. The evaluation will be done regularly and after successful completion of the programme, IIT-Mumbai will provide the certificate. The total fee for the programme is Rs 62,500 including application charges,`` added Jindal.
The course is meant for the students and young working professionals who intend to make their career in retail management, international trade, export, import, logistics and advanced IT implementations among others.
In Delhi and NCR, the classes will be held at the centers located at Raja Garden, Ashok Vihar, New Friends Colony, Raja Bazar, Vikas Puri, Greater Kailash, Malviya Nagar, Pitampura, Mall Road, Gurgaon Sector 14, DLF Qutub Plaza Noida Sector 16 and 64.
