Essential Skill
8+ years of working experience in software development
JavaME application development
5+ years of experience in developing JavaME applications for the mobile wireless industry
2+ years of leading/managing a team to deliver handset applications to market in a cross-site development environment
History of working with 3rd-party vendor tools and software
Proficiency in exploiting Java ME platform capabilities (advanced graphics design, security implementation, location, extensive use of on-device resources such as multimedia and contacts applications, etc.)
Deep understanding of mobile profiles, including JTWI, MIDP, and others
Desirable Skills
· Experience with WindowsMobile and BREW would be a plus
· Understanding of the mobile eco-system, from both a technical standpoint: able to map out the flow of application data from mobile device to server [preferred] and a market standpoint: able to identify the various relationships between content providers, MNOs, application developers, OEMs, etc. [preferred]
· Goal-oriented and self-motivated, and willing and able to work efficiently with cross-site teams
· Ability to travel on a regular basis (approximately 10%, primarily to USA)
· Proven ability to create requirements and design documents
· Proven ability to create and manage project schedules and plans, including identifying and assigning tasks,setting and achieving milestones, etc.
Job Description
This individual will be responsible for working with the Mobile Applications engineering team to enhance and evolve the mobile Music application. This role requires the candidate to spend at least 60% to 80% time on technical activities with a team size of 4-8 people. This role requires technical leadership besides managing the interfaces with customers, OEM vendors, internal/external QA and Product Management. The role also requires to port this application on various new pre commercial handsets (around 4-6 handsets a month).
This role also requires this person to be involved in defining the User Interface architectural requirements for current and future applications/services delivered on mobile devices as part of LiveWire’s Infuse platform. At the heart of the Infuse Suite is a content and customer relationship management system that lets operators consolidate multiple content sources and deliver tailored services to targeted subscribers and prospects who are most likely to buy. A substantial portion of the solution is related to "storefronts" for merchandising and selling ringbacks, full track downloads, ringtones, videos, etc.
This person needs to assist in building a small team of like-minded JavaME developers to be the core JavaME team for the company.
