The new facility will beset up within Wipro campus at Bangalore was inaugurated by A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The facility will offer consulting, pre-compliance testing and certification services for various geographies in the areas of EMI/EMC, mechanical, thermal, acoustics, safety, and reliability.
Inaugurating the facility, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former president of India said, "It is a great initiative of Wipro to provide testing facilities including EMI and EMC that will be of interest for every organization. I am aware that a lot of testing specially in the aerospace & defence sector is done in-house but with inadequate facilities. Since India has vision to emerge as a developed country to 2020, it will help industries bring out more world-class certified products in the market."
Tarang is equipped with world-class facilities for products design centers and manufacturing organizations across the country. It will enhance product quality; reduce time to market besides providing cost benefits.
The facility is equipped to test electronics, products in the aerospace, automotive, computing, consumer electronics, industrial automation, medical electronics and telecommunication industries.
Azim Premji, chairman of Wipro said, "With technology playing a vital role in every organization, several industry houses like Tata, Mahindra & Mahindra are investing a large sum in R&D but are sending some products overseas for testing. But now we have the facilities in India to meet all global standards."
Tarang has been accredited in accordance with ISO 17025/IEC 17025:2005 standards and is the only FCC listed facility in India with capability to test upto 40 GHz. With cutting edge facilities and skilled team to analyze and correct product compliance related issues, Wipro will help its clients meet various standards such as IEC, CE, UL, FCC, CSA and others which are accepted globally.
