Wipro senior executive to join MindTree
17 Dec 2008 New Delhi: Wipro executive P K Gopalakrishnan, Vice-President (Govt & Defence vertical), on Wedenesday quit the firm to join MindTree
Ltd.
Gopalakrishnan is the latest among senior executives who left the company since April. He joined global IT and R&D services company MindTree Ltd as Senior Vice-President and head of its India operations.
Gopalakrishnan will be responsible for Indian enterprises, and the defence and government sectors in both IT Services and R&D Services businesses
. He will also help in building MindTree`s System Integration (SI) capability, which the organisation is strongly intent on acquiring along with its existing base of services.
Gopalakrishnan said "MindTree has marquee Indian customers like Hindustan Unilever, Titan, TVS Motors, ICICI Bank and a few state governments. We will leverage ourdomain experience in different verticals such as manufacturing, banking, financial services, insurance, and travel and transportation to bring innovative solutions to our clients."
Earlier, Sudip Nandy, Wipro`s president for telecom, media and technology
, quit the organisation to join Aricent as chief executive officer in October.
Another top executive and long-time Wipro employee Sudip Banerjee has quit Premji Investments to join L&T`s IT subsidiary, L&T Infotech, as CEO.
Banerjee was heading the enterprise solutions division of Wipro Technologies.
PR Chandrasekar, the head of Wipro`s American operations, left to join Hexaware Technologies Ltd as CEO
